No Hander!!!!
Another gem from that lost tape we found the other day. At this point I was riding with a separated left shoulder, and to get and extension on these had me feeling good. And thanks to Tom at Empire for saying that these looked so good. HAHAHA!

Found 1993 VHS Footage
Recent VHS find of lost footage from one of the lot jams at Discovery Cycle in San Antonio off of San Pedro and 281featuring Kevin Gutierrez and Ed Koenning. That was such a fun shop, and the ramps stored in the back always provided for a fun after work time.

Crash Section -- Homeless Trash.
Mr. John Yull asked if I could get this posted the other day. Well, when Mr. Yull ask for something, you better deliver. And watch out, he will take fifty bucks from you in a flatland challenge.

Homeless Bikes Blog
There hasn't been anything new posted there in awhile, but there are a bunch of good scans of ads and bike checks over at the Homeless Bike Blog. Worth a look at just for some of the great ads.
Lee Sultimier Homeless Trash section. One of the best video sections ever. Bummed they removed the audio track.

More old riding pictures.
Riding with Kevin was always a great time. You would never know what he was up to and then out of nowhere he would try some crazy wall ride or just come up with the most insane thing. Or some days he would just disappear for awhile and no one would know where he ran off to only to find him twenty minutes later riding something by himself. Always a fun time with Kevin. I went caving with him a few times and he would always manage to get so much further into some of the tight areas that most of the time should not have been attempted. Kevin was never afraid of much. But that is why I like him so much.

Greg Guillotte.
There was always a myth about this guy in Texas. I had heard about him but never really seen him ride. We would hear things about his riding and about how high he was going. I think Eben or The Gute had ridden with him before and they were just blown away. I was never much of a vert guy, I would mess around but other than that riding anything bigger than 7 feet scared me.Even just sitting on top of a vert ramp watching Kevin and Eben blast would give me the he-be-g-b's. (Isn't that in New York?)
Then sometime in '89 when the AFA was the contest series to go to. I think this was my first time I had seen Greg ride. Holy Hell! Full on crank at those little ramps. Smooth as glass. And what I would still consider the best turn down in BMX. I watch this video and still get excited to go ride my bike. And ride it really fast.
All this babble was brought on by a post at Twitter from Jared Souney showing a cover shot of Greg from GO. Brakeless invert somewhere in Texas.
