Thanks to Santa for giving me a gift card for Heros & Fantasies I was able to pick up a few new comics last week. I have been wanting to check out Battle Scars for sometime now, hope jumping into issue three isn't too confusing. Excited to see where this Evil Deadpool story ends up also.

Garage Sale Finds--Star Wars Comics

Always something good when the family comes home from checking out the local neighborhood garage sales. These are from a time after I had lost interest in Marvel's run of the Star Wars series. Some of the art had gotten really bad, and well, the stories were not much better. Are you kidding, a Ewok story with that "great" cover shot? (*see 96 cover) Yeah, it is as bad as could be expected. Still nice to go back and read a few of these. Thanks family unit! How about some blue milk?

AT-AT! I need to get a bounch of these for the house!

Current reading.

Had some coupons from Borders the other day and decided to pick up some new trades to read. Not a bad deal for 50 percent off. And they discounted both. Pick then up form Amazon if you want.

First pick was a Marvel take on L .Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz. A great job by Eric Shanower and Skottie Young. Nice art and a great story that follows the original quite well. I highly recommend it for anyone who was a fan of the movie or book. If you were not, give it a try, it might be a good way for you to enjoy the take on the original material.

Next was something I was hoping would give me a little back history of Marvel's favorite X-Men, Wolverine. This is not a bad read, just a little thin. And well, the Deadpool section in the middle just didn't seem like it belonged in there at all. The story of Wolverine and Saber Tooth was a good read though, and made up for it. So if you want to brush up on your Wolverine history, and didn't like the X-Men Origins "Wolverine" movie, this would be good for you.

Wednesday reads(new comic book day)

Not a lot of action this week as far as new comics books go. Well, at least action in the reads I want to pick up. Lets just call it a slow comic book week.

Blackest Night is still going on and the Corps have an over-sized issue #46.

Locke & Key Crown of Shadows #4.

Doctor Who #9. Doctor number 10 and Martha Jones together with U.N.I.T. again.

And just to make up for lost time I have picked up some of the older Deadpool trades. Just finished reading Deadpool Volume 2: Dark Reign and am just about to start Deadpool & Cable Ultimate Collection . I wasn't a big fan of Deadpool at first, but that smart ass just kind of grows on you. Pretty good stuff.

And of course it is St. Patrick's Day! Time for some beer and Boondock Saints. "Hey, it's Saint Patrick's Day. Everyone's Irish today."
